Recently I participated in a month of being intentional about ‘giving to my heavenly father’ with many others around the world and my prayer for those choosing to do this was that they would be covered by the blood of Jesus and his protection like a ‘red umbrella’.
Then I saw this picture on the internet, and it struck my heart with its powerful image of ‘Abundance beyond Measure’ from God!
Imagine if you will, the protection and cover of such an array of blossoms – the aroma alone would be like heaven! The picture is amazing because the weight of actually holding that much up above your head would be a struggle, I think!
If God asks us to give to Him to be in control of what we have then why should we worry about anything else?
28 “And why worry about your clothes? Look at the field lilies! They don’t worry about theirs. 29 Yet King Solomon in all his glory was not clothed as beautifully as they. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won’t he more surely care for you, O men of little faith?

I know I wake up each morning in a warm comfortable bed, I have food to eat and the ability to give thanks to the Lord for how much he cares for me. It is hard in fact to fathom the ‘luxuries’ that we get to experience each day like standing under a hot water shower each day and feel the warmth soothing our muscles, eradicating the cold that we feel outside (it is winter here for us in the southern hemisphere and I feel the cold).

Prayer - Heavenly father your endless compassion is new every morning, renew in me the heartfelt desire to love others and be generous.
God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning. How great your faithfulness! I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left.
