Yep, you’re looking at this & thinking, ‘what on earth is she on?’
Well, sitting twiddling my thumbs, I came across this picture & straight away saw how much the paper holding the cup cake is so essential!
Then one thought led to another – so here you have it 12 My ISO thinking process (because TV is becoming a little hum drum)
Patty Pan (paper cup cake wrapper)
The words I have written on the outside of paper, to me speak of what we have around us to not only support us in our time of need (family) but what also in a way conceals the rest of who we are on the inside (attire *), it keeps us all together (wrapping) – bit like a security blanket (support)!
* attire = clothing, especially fine or formal ones
Cake Mix
Our ‘maker/baker’ has created us all very specifically individual (flavours, colours, nuts & all) but because of that, this is what makes life interesting. Getting to mix & move with others in life to create friends, relationships & so much more.
Batches of cupcakes are made of the same mix but if you were to sit & have a meal of all the same tasting food it would become a little over the top – which is why we choose variety!
Icing
When it comes to the ‘icing on the cake’ – we can put this down to ‘experiences’ along the way & some are skilful in applying their ‘coatings’ but others are a little ‘slap happy’ in the process. We all deal with our circumstances very differently but for those of us who choose to put Jesus Christ first in the ‘storm’ of any decision making, then He alone will work all things for our good…. (they are the cupcake toppings we generally find pleasing to the eye when standing at the bake shop, choosing which to buy!)
And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose. – Rom 8:28 AMP
Dollop of Cream
I happen to be a very big fan of dairy products (probably not good for me at all) but whenever I choose to eat a slice of cake or dessert it nearly always has to have a ‘BIG’ dollop of cream on the side because I don’t think you can have it any other way!! (of course, my husband most certainly does not think that way at all!)
To me, having participated in many different areas of Ministry & denominations over the years – I have come to understand how much choosing to engage with & enjoy a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit in my every day circumstances has not only increased the awe in events & activities but by willingly allowing Him (God the Father, Son & Holy Spirit) to outwork and guide me, I have seen & participated in the most profound Blessings ever over my life & to me that has been the ‘HUGEST’ dollop of cream imaginable! I could not & will not do my life any other way.
Cherry on Top
Woohoo! Who does not want/or go for the ‘Cherry on top’??? You generally find that some would fight you for the treat on top of the cake….
For me, it is not about fighting to get this, it is more about it falling in your lap because when you are moving in & doing all that you believe God is asking of you then your life will bloom for others to see (the light God asks us to shine for Him) & they will question – ‘how come they get it all?’
Matthew 5:14-16 The Message (MSG)
14-16 “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.
*****
I Pray today that next time you choose a cupcake, this analogy will be forefront in your minds and prompt you to ask why you chose it over another AND for yourself – will you go for the one with it ALL? (see words to Hymn ‘All to Jesus I surrender’)
All to Jesus I surrender, All to Him I freely give; I will ever love and trust Him, In His presence daily live. I surrender all, I surrender all. All to Thee, my blessed Savior, I surrender all. All to Jesus I surrender, Humbly at His feet I bow, Worldly pleasures all forsaken; Take me, Jesus, take me now. All to Jesus I surrender, Make me, Savior, wholly Thine; Let me feel Thy Holy Spirit, Truly know that Thou art mine. All to Jesus I surrender, Lord, I give myself to Thee; Fill me with Thy love and power, et Thy blessing fall on me. All to Jesus I surrender, Now I feel the sacred flame. Oh, the joy of full salvation! Glory, glory to His name!
