Doors of Declaration

I have a Pinterest page with this same title because I am fascinated with the look of doorways presented to me and what we choose to enter into via a doorway that is before us!

Much like this jigsaw puzzle I saw on my social media, the extravagant selection of ‘pastiche’ ( pastiche (n.) "a medley made up of fragments from different works," ) different doorways that either repel or invite us into what may lay behind them.

Over the years I have come across quite a plethora of ornate doors, from across the world – castles, garden gateways, carved, embellished, grand, simple etc that have contained some astonishing history attached to them.  But some doorways, gates even that I believe to be walking through one day into heaven are described as the following…

21 The twelve gates were made of pearls—each gate from a single pearl! And the main street was pure, transparent gold, like glass. - Rev 21:21 TLB

If they aren’t a declaration to invite someone to come in, then I don’t know what is!

Recently I was part of a room of over 2,000 women who came together to hear it shared about Peter and John (2 of Jesus disciples) coming to the ‘Gate Beautiful’ and meeting a lame man…

Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o’clock daily prayer meeting. As they approached the Temple, they saw a man lame from birth carried along the street and laid beside the Temple gate—the one called The Beautiful Gate—as was his custom every day. As Peter and John were passing by, he asked them for some money.

They looked at him intently, and then Peter said, “Look here!”

The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting a gift.

But Peter said, “We don’t have any money for you! But I’ll give you something else! I command you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk!”

7-8 Then Peter took the lame man by the hand and pulled him to his feet. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankle bones were healed and strengthened so that he came up with a leap, stood there a moment and began walking! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them. – Acts 3:1-8 TLB

At this place ‘The Beautiful Gate’ – the man, lame from birth looked at the disciple eagerly, expecting…

So how often in our every day I wonder do we come to the door of… church, a friend’s home, a hospital, our place of work etc … expectant to…

·       receive a word from the Lord on how to bless others in need

·       receive healing for ourselves

·       receive a compliment

OR

·       give of ourselves to pray for others in need

·       give an encouragement or prophetic word in season

·       give to others out of the abundance we have ourselves

What really inspires me from this passage is that it starts with,

Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o’clock daily prayer meeting. As they approached the Temple, they saw a man lame from birth…

Peter and John, I assume were not even ‘prayed up’ at that point as they were going to the temple for the 3pm prayer meeting and it was on the way that they saw the need – so we don’t really have any excuses here to not allow God to use us in every area/ portion of our day because He wants ‘US’, our hands and feet to be the vehicles/utensils He can work through into others in this season.

Since the beginning of this year, 2025, I am continually hearing from many avenues that the harvest is ready…

35 Do you not say, ‘It is still four months until the harvest comes?’ Look, I say to you, raise your eyes and look at the fields and see, they are white for harvest. – John 4:35 AMP

So, tell me, what doorways are you walking through today, trains, busses, ferries, markets, gyms (the list goes on) that we may be a blessing to others and be perceptive to what the Holy Spirit is saying to bring the healing, love and life to others that Jesus Christ so desires!

PRAYER

Lord, I pray for all those reading this today that they may receive from you, a fresh revelation of their assignment from your heart – that they would be willing to reach out of their comfort zone and be used to bring a new reality into the lives of others of your love, grace and mercy.  As we draw close to Easter this year, it is a great reminder of what you secured for us, so I pray that we may be willing to pass on that same transformation to others this Easter. Amen!
